Job description

Promaton is changing dental healthcare by automating diagnostics and treatment workflows using AI, making healthcare more affordable and accessible for everyone.

Promaton is on a mission to provide fast, more accessible and higher-quality dental healthcare to patients all across the globe. We are a remote-first startup with a very strong ‘people first’ culture. Seven years after being founded, we have more than 45 team members (mostly holding MSc and PhD degrees in various computer science and AI-related subjects) across Europe, 3 live products, a fast-growing user base, 8 patents and are ISO certified.

We are passionate about technical innovation in healthcare, we value autonomy and implement best practices from top tech product companies. See our company page to learn more about what we do.

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to join the Platform team of our rapidly growing medical AI company. Our team’s mission is to (1) ensure that our AI-powered workflows are highly available to thousands of customers worldwide and that (2) our product teams have the best experience when working with it (DevEx). In this role, you will be critical in building a dependable team that strives. You partner with cross-functional teams, identify the most high-value projects and keep the team focused on them.

You'll be working with an accomplished remote team of senior engineers and ML professionals who have created market-leading algorithms that are in use worldwide.

You'll be joining a team that has already successfully launched one product in the medical domain, with several more in the pipeline, and you'll have the opportunity to be part of these exciting developments!

Key responsibilities:

  • Technical team leadership: You represent and advocate for the team's interests. Your technical knowledge allows you to challenge engineers' proposals, identify bottlenecks and roadblocks.

  • Team Development: The Platform engineering team reports to you. Foster a safe, collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Mentor and support fellow engineers (3 and actively recruiting more) in their professional development, providing feedback, guidance, and opportunities for skill enhancement.

  • Team operations: Define and implement a working methodology that fits the team and provides dependable, high-impact results.

  • Hiring and resource planning: You collaborate with the recruitment team to grow your team and meet the goals.

  • Platform products management: Interact closely with our product teams and external partners and identify high-value projects. Align their needs with the company's tech strategy. You are responsible for the successful roadmap planning, scoping, implementation, and delivery of the products. You successfully communicate the strategy and get buy-in from key stakeholders.

  • Compliance of the solutions: AI medical is a highly regulated field. Relevant standards (data anonymization, multi-region support, etc.) must always be adhered to to protect user and patient data.

  • Continuous improvements: Be proactive and regularly propose and implement improvements in all aspects, from code to documentation, performance and processes. You take ownership, and we trust you to use your best judgment to address unplanned issues when necessary (we are all about empowering engineers and reducing the noise around them).

What you will be working on:

  • Design and create the future of our AI-powered Service workflows in close collaboration with our main partners

  • Level up our platform to improve the DevEx for the engineers

  • Improve scalability, compliance and security measures of our solutions towards enterprise readiness

  • Identify and foster collaboration opportunities with partners
