Data is an essential part of the AI products we build, and we need to continuously increase our algorithm output by optimizing (the quantity and quality of) the input data. You will work with product management, researchers and engineers to help solve product quality improvements from the data side and lead new data annotation projects. Also you will bear responsibility for the data annotation itself and related processes. This means you set up new processes and continuously improve existing ones.
You will manage multiple data projects within the company. We train AI algorithms by showing lots of examples and by taking the algorithm's erroneous outputs as new learnings. You will be managing the entire data lifecycle, from data requirements, data sourcing, quality management, up to establishing long-term plans. All making sure we have large amounts of high quality data that enable and increase product performance. Together with our patented AI algorithms, this is the most important aspect of our business.
Project management of current and new data annotation projects
Planning and resource management
Cost management: plan and manage costs for data life cycle (data sourcing, data annotation, quality assurance)
Structuring data annotation in Promaton: e.g. setting up, implementing and improving processes for setting requirements, data annotation, and data quality management. Extend focus from operations (the baseline) to other dimensions in general (data/annotation quality, innovation)
Driving continuous improvement: we want to get much more efficient, which includes changes in the tools and platform. You will collaborate with the platform to make those changes.
Direct interaction with and being part of our product teams, working closely with machine learning researchers/engineers and product managers
Direct interaction with the platform team, working closely with product manager and technical lead on annotation solutions and processes
Management of our group of data annotators
Manage our internal and external data annotation teams (OKR progress, their happiness, planning)
Managing of input, output, problems and relationship of outsourcing companies
Direct interactions with external partners for all data related items (commercial partners, research partners, clinical experts, etc.)
Day-to-day data operational tasks:
Sourcing of data
Assessment of progress, problems and risks
Deployment & tracking of assignments
Measure and determining of the quality of annotations
Reviews & extensions of manuals
Some of the main challenges you will be working on in the first 3-6 months:
Improve the quality control on the annotations
Identify the upcoming data needs in the product teams
Work with the platform team (product manager & data engineers) to help define the needs and requirements for our data annotation platform
1-3 years experience in project mgt in a technical environment
Strong proactive and getting-things-done mentality.
A strong mentality to improve and optimize the current process
People management skills: you know how to motivate your team and can help team members with problems
Hands on attitude (i.e. taking on the full responsibility of the role, including operational work)
Strong in English writing and speaking
Strong organizational skills and eye for detail
Previous experience in the medical domain
Previous experience with data annotation for computer vision or NLP
